Painting donated to remember Bob

Dear Editor,

I, Lavera Goodeye, am donating a painting by Mary Hallett Biggs to the Coronation RCMP in memory of Robert David Foley.
The painting is a winter prairie scene of a Chinook Arch which is a herald of warmer weather.
Mary was a true artist who helped us see the beauty of the open land where we live. She was a friend to Robert and encouraged him in his stained glass and building projects.
Robert was the creative power in Ribstone Glass Art Ltd during the seven years he lived in Coronation. He designed and built an energy efficient Victorian style house. He used a four sided sticker planer to shape all the mouldings and tongue and groove boards for the house.
He learned to make hand bevelled glass and built all the machinery needed for the process. Most of the bevelled windows were sold in Calgary. The estate brick and sand blasted signs in the Coronation area remind us of his energy.
I am presenting this painting to the RCMP to remember Bob. And to remind us all how much we need the stability and clear direction of the police in any time of crisis. They were a really important support for me.
When I was in Valleyview we were organizing Victim's Assistance and I encourage it's continued development.
