| FALKENBERG Harvey Albert passed away on Saturday, April 19, 2003 in Red Deer. Harvey was born in Castor on October 16, 1932 to Albert and Katherine. He lived in Castor all his life. Harvey lived with his parents and siblings on a farm in the Rosetta district north east of town. He attended Rosetta School until his family moved to town. After quitting school at 16 he worked for the Engel brothers during harvest time which he enjoyed very much. Harvey worked for several different drilling rigs as a roughneck and derrick man. He worked in the building trade with Alberta Wheat Pool and Jim Duguid. He worked on his own for a few years as a trucker and remodelling several houses in town. He started working for the Town of Castor in 1965 working there for 10 years. In 1975 he joined the County of Paintearth where he took training as a painter for the school division. He retired in 1994. Harvey loved hunting, fishing, gardening, playing cards, trapshooting, taxidermy, and making wild life videos. In later years he took pictures of old buildings because he wanted to preserve a little bit of history. Camping in the summer with treasured friends and family was a great joy. He was always ready for a game of cards. He treasured his children and grandchildren helping them any way he could. He especially enjoyed the holidays when he could have all his family around him. Harvey married Evelyn Arnold on July 10, 1953 and this year would have been their 50th wedding anniversary. Five children were born to this union, Gordon, Wayne, Glen, Cheryl and Gale. He was predeceased by his parents Albert (Shorty) and Katherine and sister Inez. Left to cherish his memory are his loving wife Evelyn; son Gordon (Lucy) and grandchildren Jennifer, Brandy, and Robert; son Wayne (Corrine); son Glen; daughter Cheryl (Mel) and grandchildren Nathan and Ian; daughter Gale and grandchildren Alisha and Michael; brothers Mel (Julie), Elvin (Val); sister Janice (Paul) Vallee as well as many nieces, nephews, brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law.
