Gienger - Eleanor Anne (nee Hansen) Gienger passed away suddenly at home on February 24, 2003 at the age of 64 years.

Eleanor was born on February 1, 1939 in Coronation, Alberta to Hans and Inga Hansen.

She lived her childhood years in Coronation and Brownfield, Alberta.

She moved to Ponoka where she met and married Harry in 1959.

She will be lovingly remembered by her husband Harry of Ponoka; mother Inga Hansen of Calgary; sisters Alberta (Frank) Peterson, Karen (Leroy) English, Sylvia (Hugh) Adams and Elsie (Grant) Tilford, all of Calgary; nieces and nephews Terry Peterson, Chris (Glenn) Maynes, Brent Tilford; great-nieces Courtney MacDowell and Hailey and Kaitlin Adams; very special friends Red and Shirley Greene; brothers-in-law Dave (Linell) Gienger of Lynden, Washington and Leo (Barbara) Gienger of Seattle, Washington, as well as numerous other relatives and friends.

She was predeceased by her infant son Ernie, father Hans Hansen, and sister-in-law Elsie (Frank) Skerjanc.

Funeral Services were held in Ponoka at the Church of the Open Bible on

Friday, February 28, 2003 at 1 p.m. with Pastor Spence Laycock officiating.

Interment followed in the Ferrybank Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial tributes in Eleanor’s memory may be made to the Ferrybank Cemetery Fund in care of Bowker Funeral Home, Box 4007, Ponoka, Ab. T4J 1R5.
