He was predeceased by his father John Cunningham March 30, 1973 and by his mother Thelma Cunningham December 2, 1985.
Don was born April 16, 1935 at home in the Brownfield area. The roads were blocked and the doctor was unable to get out for three or four days.
He spent most of his life in the Bulwark and Coronation area, moving to Edmonton in 1982 where he met Millie Nadeau.
They were married November 1, 1986 and resided in Edmonton, moving to Camrose, then to Strome, and finally to the Manitou Manor in 1992 in Killam.
He is survived by his loving wife and best friend Millie in the Killam Health Care Centre, two sisters Joan (George) Edman of Sedgewick, Jean (Grant) Pearce of Edmonton, one brother David (Shannon) Cunningham, several niees and nephews and five great nieces and nephews, a host of friends in the Killam Health Care Centre and Manitou Manor.
Funeral services were held in the Manitou Manor February 26, 2002 with Rev. Randy Hedeman officiating.
