| Ellis - Phyllis Margaret (nee Currie) Ellis January 1, ’22 – July 15, ’08 Phyllis Margaret Ellis (nee Currie) beloved wife of Bob of Calgary, previously of Hanna and Coronation, AB, passed away on Tuesday, July 15, 2008 at the Agape Hospice, at the age of 86 years. Phyllis was born ‘Phyllis Currie’ in Medicine Hat, AB on January 29, 1922. She moved to Coronation in 1929, where she met Robert Ellis and after he returned from overseas in 1945, they were married in Winnipeg. Returning to Coronation, they started a family of three. Phyllis was involved as a member of the St. David’s United Church in Calgary. In past years, she was involved in the many aspects of the church and only recently discontinued working with the Communi Pastoral Care Committee. In Coronation and Hanna, prior to retiring to Calgary in 1987, Phyllis was heavily involved with her life long friends, community and church. Everyone she met would be met with a smile and they would then leave with a smile in their hearts. Besides her loving husband Robert “Bob” Ellis, Phyllis is also survived by her children, Robert and Mary Ann Ellis of Sacramento, CA, Margaret Deegan and Tom and Joan Ellis, all of Calgary. She is also survived by her six grandchildren and her three great grandchildren and her sister Dorothy Thomas of Ladner, BC. Phyllis was predeceased by her brother Robert “Bob” Currie. A Celebration of Phyllis’ life was held at McInnis & Holloway’s, Crowfoot Chapel (82 Crowfoot Circle N.W., Calgary, AB) on Monday, July 21, 2008 at 1:30 p.m. Forward condolences through www.mcinnisandholloway.com.
