Eklund - Dolores Marie Levesque was born June 4, 1930 south of Glentworth, Saskatchewan on her grandparents farm.
She was raised and attended school in the area and moved to Glentworth as a teenager.
She met Ken Eklund about 1945 and they were married on November 15, 1948 at LaFleche, Saskatchewan and left for Alberta shortly after.
Dolores and Ken worked west of Calgary eight years and for two years near Queenstown before moving to Veteran area in 1959.
Dolores and Ken lived and worked on the X Bar X (McMorris) ranch southwest of Veteran for 25 years and raised their family there until 1984 when they semi-retired and moved into Veteran.
Dolores’ life was her husband and their children. After all the children were grown and married she loved haivng everyone come home to visit, then she would cook a big meal that everyone enjoyed.
Dolores always had a big garden, did lots of canning, pickling and sending fresh vegetables (love those zucchinis) to her daughters in the city.
She loved to abake and everyone loved her ‘pineapple delight’ and donuts.
Dolores loved to disc and floor curl and to go down for coffee three times a day with the rest of the ladies.
She also loved to play cards with family and friends and to go dancing.
Dolores and Ken attended lots of dances with their friends and belonged to the Solo Club in Consort.
Her memory will live on through her family - husband, Ken; Children Lorraine; Marlene (Ron); Lavern (Nancy); Nancy (Don); Percy (Carmen); and Janice.
And her grandchildren - Ken; Colleen; Sherry (Vince); Dave (Angie); Michelle (Phil); Sue; Lesley (Vijay); Tessa; Jeff; Jaime; Alisha; Scott; Alex; and great grandchildren - Suzanne; Natasha; Corim; Ashleigh; Breanna; and Jonathan.
Also great great grandchildren - Keegan and Peyton.
Dolores will be remembered by her siblings - Blanche, Art, Vivian, Madeline, Marilyn; Loreen; numerous nieces and nephews, other relatives and a host of friends.
She was predeceased by her parents, Beatrice and Alfie and brothers, Norman and Alfie.
At her request no funeral or memorial service will be held.
