BOSSERT – Emil Bossert passed away in the Coronation Health Care Complex on Thursday, May 31, 2001 at the age of 87 years.

Emil was born November 18, 1913 at Hilda, Alberta, the second eldest of nine children born to Rudolph and Mary Bossert.

As a child the family moved first to the Hemaruka and later to the Veteran area where they farmed.

In November 1939 he married Clara Finkbeiner and they resided and farmed on what was locally known as the "Britton Place."

They were blessed with two children, a son Raymond and a daughter Ruth. In 1944, with two young children, they took over his father’s farm, known as McNeil’s. In 1967 they sold the farm and moved into their home in Coronation where he resided until his passing. After moving from his farm Emil farmed for a number of years for George Tkach. After retiring he led a very active life.

He loved his many fishing and camping trips and took special pride and pleasure in his garden and yard.

Emil will be lovingly remembered for his kind and patient nature, generosity to his family, friends and neighbors and his great love for his family.

Predeceased by his parents Rudolph and Mary Bossert (Boshee), his brothers, Ed and Fred, sisters Ella and Martha. He is survived by Clara, his loving wife of 62 years; son Raymond (Marilyn) of Kipling, Saskatchewan; daughter, Ruth (Lorne) Mitchell of Okotoks, Alberta; brother, Clarence (Doris) of Hardisty, Alberta; sisters, Freda Aman of Medicine Hat, Meta (Fred) Young of Kamloops, B.C. and Alice (Merrill) Binning of White Rock, B.C.

He is also survived by grandchildren, Kathleen (Lance) Wilson of Spruce Grove, Alberta, Kell (Sherry) Mitchell of Calgary, Alberta, Jason (Lisa) Bossert of Edmonton, Ryan (Lara) Bossert of Souris, Manitoba, nine great-grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews and good friends.

Funeral services for Emil Bossert were held Monday, June 4, 2001 at Trinity United Church, Coronation with Rev. Russell W. Rogers officiating.

Rev. Russell W. Rogers read a tribute written by Emil’s children in memory of their father, a poem was read by Emil’s daughter in law Marilyn Bossert. A special song "God Will Take Care of You" was sung by Tracey Twa, Connie Cox and Paula Kobi. The choir sang "The 23rd Psalm".

Congregational hymns were "What A Friend We Have In Jesus" and "The Old Rugged Cross." Linda Osetsky played the organ and Marilyn Rogers played the piano for the hymns.

Honorary pallbearers were "All of Emil’s Family and Friends" and the active pallbearers were Emil’s grandchildren, Kathleen Wilson, Kell Micthell, Jason and Ryan Bossert; and nephews, Larry Finkbeiner, Dennis Bossert, Ray Bossert and Lester Bossert.

The interment followed the funeral service in Coronation Cemetery, Coronation. After the interment there was a time of remembrance, fellowship and sharing with family and friends in the Lower Hall of the church prepared and served by the Trinity United Church Women.
