| GLAZIER - Sharon Laurella Glazier passed away Wednesday, April 19, 2006 in Red Deer, Alberta, at age 75. Sharon was born in Calgary at the Holy Cross Hospital on January 21, 1931. She grew up in Edmonton, Calgary and the Black Diamond Okotoks area. Sharon worked as a secretary in Calgary before marrying Ted. Ted considered Sharon to be his Gift from God. Sharon and Ted married in Calgary, January 26, 1952. They resided in Coronation for 54 years where Sharon was a homemaker raising five children. Sharon was extremely artistic and enjoyed working on all types of crafts. She had particular skill in sewing, quilting and knitting. She was also a wonderful artist, enjoying painting using oils and watercolors. Sharon loved to watch and identify birds. She had many birdhouses and feeders which she guarded fiercely so unwanted scavengers could not steal from her birds. She also enjoyed gardening especially working in her flower garden. In the fall, she took great pleasure in harvesting the tomatoes and creating salsa. Another outdoor activity she enjoyed was fishing and even participated in fishing derbies. Sharon enjoyed playing bingo and going to the casino on occasion to play the slot machines. Sharon was an avid builder and collector of porcelain dolls, making a special doll for each granddaughter. Sharon also had some traditional cooking methods which she fervently adhered to. Cooking a turkey in a brown paper bag to keep it moist was an unusual technique which she has passed on. Sharons greatest joy was her family. She was giving and protective, and always made time to do whatever the family needed. She created amazing gifts for every family member. Sharon was always thinking of her children and grandchildren, frequently showing up with a little gift, she thought someone would enjoy. In recent years she took particular pride in her grandchildrens accomplishments. Sharon valued her family above all things. They were her greatest pleasure. Sharon is survived by her loving husband, Edward, children Heather Glazier, Zane (Wendy) Glazier, Holly (John) Farkes, Laurel (Jonathan) Harrison, Aaron (Andrea) Glazier, Elizabeth Glazier, Urban (Lillian) Bahan; grandchildren, Alexandra and Kyra-Lee Glazier, Kelsey, Kevin, Gregory and Tyson Glazier, Lauren and Carlee Harrison, Sabrina and Tia Glazier, Cary Glazier, Yvette (Kenji) Nakamoto, Elvis (Izabel) Glazier, Urban John (Naomi) Bahan, Dwayne (Charlene) Bahan, Robyn (Brent) Stephens, as well as numerous great grandchildren. Also, one sister, Susan Badick; two brothers, Michael (Sheri) Miller and Clifford Miller; sister-in-law Mabel Glazier and numerous nieces and nephews. Sharon was predeceased by her parents and grandparents, several aunts and uncles as well as her mother -in-law and father-in-law, two brothers-in-law and one sister-in-law. The service to celebrate Sharons life took place at the Coronation Community Centre, Coronation, Alberta on Monday, April 24, 2006 at 2 p.m. with Pastor Terry Belcourt of the Evangelical Free Church officiating. Fred Paasche gave the eulogy and a poem was read by Michael Miller. A memorial video tribute was played in remembrance of Sharons life. Barbie and Margaret Evans played for the congregational hymns, How Great Thou Art and Jesus Loves Me. Soloist, Elizabeth Glazier sang St. Francis Peace Prayer and Amazing Grace. Honourary pallbearers were Fred Paasche, Milton and Betty Clark, Sonja Smith, Evelyn Stoltz, Alberta Vigen, Aldis Chinnery, Michael Miller, Clifford Miller and George Glazier. Active pallbearers were Kevin Glazier, Gregory Glazier, Tyson Glazier, Cary Glazier, Elvis Glazier, Urban John Bahan, Dwayne Bahan and Mark Badick. Following the funeral service family and friends remained at the Community Centre for a time of visiting and reminiscing. A beautiful lunch was prepared and served by the Sunshine Club.
