BOSSERT – Annie Bossert was born on September 6, 1917 and passed away on August 14, 2005 after a brief but courageous battle with cancer.
Annie is survived by two daughters Irene (Walter) Durksen of Red Deer, Faye Bryson of Stettler; two sons Ray (Linda) Bossert of Coronation, Les (Marlene) Bossert of Edmonton; 10 grandchildren Debbie Durksen, Brenda Reesor, Tracy Annable, Tara Dahl, Tammy Anderson, Delvin Bossert, Kevin Bossert, Melanie Bisson, Charlene Bacchus, René Bossert; 23 great grandchildren and one great great grandchild; two sisters Maymie Myers of Hanna, Janie Kennedy of Nanton, one brother Joe Duer (Mariam) of Acme, numerous nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
Annie was predeceased by her husband, Fred Bossert (1993), her parents Charlie and Clementine Duer; three sisters Ellen Dafoe, Rachel Filipenko, Edna Couturier and one son-in-law Jim Bryson.
The family would like to express a very sincere “Thank You” to all the staff at the Coronation Health Care Complex and Assisted Living facility.
Your kindness and gentle treatment is appreciated beyond words.
Funeral services were held in the Veteran Full Gospel Church on Friday, August 19, 2005 at 1:30 p.m. with Pastor Darrel Durksen officiating.
A tribute was given by Dale Reesor.
Organist Linda Schetzsle played for the congregational hymn “The Old Rugged Cross.”
Vern Durksen sang the solos “Serenaded by Angels” and “I’ll Fly Away.”
Donna Kelm and Jeanette Berg sang “Amazing Grace.”
The interment followed in the Veteran Cemetery where Annie was laid to rest beside her husband Fred.
The active pallbearers were Delvin Bossert, Rene Bossert, Claude Bisson, Kevin Bossert, Dennis Bossert, and Ennis Myers.
The honourary pallbearers were Debbie Durksen, Brenda Reesor, Tracy Annable, Tara Dahl, Tammy Anderson, Charlene Bacchus, Melanie Bisson, and “All of Annie’s Family & Friends.”
Family and friends then gathered together for a luncheon in the Veteran United Church prepared by the Veteran Full Gospel Church Ladies.
Should friends desire memorial contributions may be made in Annie’s memory to the Coronation Health Care Complex Foundation.
Parkview Funeral Chapels “Families Serving Families” of East Central Alberta were entrusted with the care and funeral arrangements.
