BULLICK - It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved Shirley on August 16, 2005 in the Coronation Health Care Complex at the age of 80 years.
Shirley was born May 9, 1925 in Ottawa, Ontario, the youngest daughter of Mary and Pat O’Flaherty, with a sister Phyllis and a brother Jack.
After graduating from the High School of Commerce in Ottawa, she was employed as a Clerk Steno by the Royal Canadian Air Force.
On January 21, 1943 she married Clifford (Cliff) Burton, then in the Royal Canadian Navy.
After living in Sydney, Nova Scotia for a time she returned to Ottawa for the duration of the war.
On December 16, 1946 a son Ronald was born.
Cliff and Shirley then moved to Kimberly, B.C., where in October 1947 a daughter Susan was born.
Then they moved to Olds, Alberta and Cliff learned the craft of Photography.
In 1953, they set out for Coronation, which proved to be a permanent home.
Shirley was always working.
Many friends knew her at the Photo Studio, the Post Office or the Drugstore.
In 1973 her husband Cliff passed away.
In 1975 Shirley married Stan Bullick and he became the love of her life.
When she married Stan she gained a stepdaughter Irene and her husband Pat Rutledge as well as two grandchildren, Sean and Suzanne.
It was a happy time for Shirley and Stan.
Travelling was their passion, Mexico, Nova Scotia, Ottawa, Vancouver and many miles in their Mini Mouse motor home.
Travelling Alberta was their favourite.
Stan and Shirley had a wonderful life together.
Shirley was predeceased by Cliff Burton in 1973, Stan Bullick in 2001, her parents Mr. & Mrs. A.P. O’Flaherty and brother Major J.R. O’Flaherty.

Shirley was a truly wonderful wife, mother, sister and grandmother and she will be greatly missed.
Rest in peace Shirley.
God saw you getting tired,
When a cure was not to be,
So He put His arms around you,
And whispered “Come to me.”
So He took you to His garden
And laid you there to rest.
God’s garden must be beautiful
He only takes the best.
