Fields Store comes to town
by Lois Perepelitz

An empty building in a small town is usually the topic of much talk and speculation. Everyone wonders who will buy it and what will they do with it?
Rumours of all sorts will fly around the town, and when the truth becomes known it can be something totally different. Some might even say a disappointment.
The town of Coronation is no different than any other in this respect.

“Fields store to open in Coronation this August.
“After much speculation, it was announced last week that Coronation’s Liquor board store has been sold.
“Contrary to speculation that the building would be turned into a gambling parlour and strip joint, it was made public last week that the building will be converted into a family clothing store.
“Rory Banks, Regional Advertising Manager for clothing company Fields confirmed last Thursday, June 21 that a new Fields store will open sometime in mid August.”
I know some will think that a gambling parlour would have been so much more fun, but what would we do without our Fields store?
They get so much stuff packed into that little store that a person can be fairly sure of finding whatever they may need. They have come to my rescue many times, especially Sundays.
