Fundraising was how the people of Coronation got a lot of things done.
If a new building was needed, the fundraising would get it built.
If someone lost their home to fire, the fundraising dinners and walk-a-thons would start and not end until the family were back on their feet again.
This attitude was passed down from generation to generation. After reading about the generosity of the students, the seniors decided to show everyone that they could still take care of themselves.

Walk-a-thon
Temperatures reaching 28.7 degrees Celsius (84 degrees Fahrenheit) didnt slow the seniors who participated in the Walk-a-thon held on Wednesday, July 26 which raised approximately 800 dollars.
Thirty-eight people walked with 20 of those participating from the Nursing Home and 17 from the Auxiliary.
Seventeen volunteers walked, one child, Taylor Orbeck of the Day Care walked to raise money, and one acute care patient rounded out the group.
The group walked and wheeled their way eight blocks from the complex to Vera and Mel Lambs home where everyone was treated to ice cream and cookies and juice.
Annie Vigen walked all the way pushing John Vigen in the wheelchair as did Cyril Bowen who wheeled Wilmot Troyer down five of the eight blocks.
Others who walked the eight blocks were Conrad Blume, Edna Brigley and Kate Thomsen.
Kate Thomsen received a bouquet for raising the most money which was $258.
The monies raised will go into the Twilight Club Coffers.
People working together, people getting together to help other people, that is how the people of the Coronation community would get things done.
