High School rodeo set for Coronation
A new rodeo association was formed in Coronation on Wednesday, February 19, 1986.
The East Central high School Rodeo Association will be holding their first rodeo on April 26 and 27 at the Coronation Elks Rodeo grounds at 12 noon and 10 a.m.
The ground rules for a High School rodeo require a contestant to be a member of a High School rodeo association.
Students from Grades 9-12 can participate but they must have a good grade standings in school and a consent form must be signed by their school principal.
This is a two day rodeo with a total of 12 events and two all-round trophies.
It sounds like a pretty big job for High School students to take on. I guess we should never under estimate the students in this area.

First Coronation High School Rodeo declared a success
With the cooperation of the weather 108 high school students - 79 boys and 29 girls - participated in the first Coronation High School Rodeo on April 26-27.
From all the feedback we had it was a success, said Gail Gibson, one of the parents helping to organize the rodeo.
I think this shows that when students are willing to work hard and have the support of their parents and teachers, they can do almost anything.
