I almost feel sorry for our younger generation. Most, if not all of them, will never be able to experience a night at a Drive-In theatre.
They will never have a memory of taking pillows and blankies and falling asleep in the back seat with faces covered in butter from the popcorn.
Never have the memory of watching a movie squashed between seven or eight friends because it was $2 per car night.
Never have the memory of watching a James Bond movie from the front row with the hottie of the month and nearly upchucking when the cars started racing over the hills on the huge screen
oh wait, thats one memory we dont want.
In the early eighties a lot of small businesses were struggling and the Corolon Drive-In was one of them.

Chamber Concerned About Drive-In
Herb Rock and Ted McKenzie, representing the Chamber of Commerce, voiced concerns about losing the drive-in theatre in a town tax sale scheduled for September 26.
The two requested that the property be removed from the September tax sale and another year be granted to the owners to come up with the financing to pay up the arrears owing.
The Chamber of Commerce is very concerned that we will lose this important entertainment facility, which in the only one of its kind between Red Deer and Saskatoon. No doubt it attracts people to our town from a very wide area, and helps to keep Coronation on the map.
Council decided at Mondays meeting to adjourn the tax sale for one month until it can meet again with the theatre owners at its next meeting.
Well, they must have worked something out as I havent come across anything about the drive-in closing at that time. It is gone now but I hope it stayed around long enough to give a few more people some golden memories
