The people of Coronation were always trying to raise money for some organization or another. This was usually done by a group of people working together.

Local Nursing Home Reaps Benefits From Series Pool
During the recent World Series, Walter Bell organized and ran a pool on all seven world series games.
Prizes were awarded $20 for third and sixth innings and $30 for final score.
A cheque for $210 the remaining $30 from each pool, seven games, has been forwarded to the guests of the Nursing Home by Mr. Bell.
What a wonderful idea. It worked so well that he did much the same thing with a Grey Cup Pool and that was used to give the guests of the Nursing Home a very nice Christmas party.
The generosity of Mr. Bell was a great example to the younger generation. The R.C.M.P. found a way to get an even stronger message of giving across to the youngsters.
