Two movies per week at the Star
by Lois Perepelitz

Movies were very popular, and the Star Theatre would show two films per week; each would run for two nights.
The movies that were shown then went on to become great classic, such as: Primrose Path with Ginger Rogers, Viva Cisco Kid with Cesar Romero, South of the Border with Gene Autry and of course, Wuthering Heights with Laurence Olivier.

If you are not quite certain whether the movies do more harm than good in this world, you can have the question settled beyond a doubt if you attend the young peoples meeting at Whittaker school on Friday March 15.
The young people of the district have scheduled a debate for that evening and the topic is “Resolved: that movies do more harm than good.”
The verdict was for the negative, meaning that they did not think movies did more harm than good.
I wonder if we would get the same result with the movies of the 21st century
